Mackenzie Roberts, 11 year old cowgirl from Munford, Alabama, competed January 12-14 at the 2016 Miniature Rodeo Association World Finals, held in Oklahoma City.
She, and her horse Zada, were fresh off their wins at Southern Youth Bulls & Barrels finals held in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where they won the buckle in two divisions.
The MRA finals consisted of four rounds; two regular go-rounds where Mackenzie barrel raced against 14 other finalists. She finished first place in both rounds.
The top five barrel racers got to compete in round three, where Mackenzie took the win there as well.
It all came down to the last run which was held with the IFR47 performance on Saturday. The top two in her division were in a race for the buckle. Mackenzie not only won that round, but it was her fastest run yet in the arena!
She won three go-round trophies, a champion-round cup, a world champion buckle, and a check, of course.
Mackenzie made a clean sweep in Oklahoma. Congrats to our Alabama cowgirl!
